Our Franklin second graders recently put their descriptive writing skills to the test with a festive turkey activity! Students first colored their own turkey and then wrote a descriptive paper using adjectives to explain its unique features. The challenge? Handing their paper to a student from another class, who had to use the description to recreate the turkey without seeing the original! Through this fun and creative activity, students discovered the importance of adding specific details when describing something. They learned that the more vivid and clear the description, the better the results! We’re so thankful for our hardworking students and their creative minds. Wishing everyone a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving! 🦃❤️

Today, the Sterling High School Madrigals had the honor of performing at the Veterans Day Ceremony held at the Centennial Auditorium. The event, hosted by the Sterling American Legion, brought our community together to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country. The ceremony opened with remarks from Mike Wolber, who spoke beautifully on the character of a veteran—highlighting their courage, dedication, and resilience.
Thank you to our veterans for your service and sacrifice. Happy Veterans Day!
