Hello families and students!
We have had a fantastic start to our year. The building renovations are beautiful, but it is the students who make Washington great!
Students are doing a nice job following our expectations to be respectful, responsible, and safe. Staff work with students daily to review expectations and provide practice with the Washington Way. Good deeds and behaviors are recognized with positive office referrals, which are shared over the announcements, and Warrior Bucks, which students can cash in for prizes at our Warrior Buck Store. Our counselor and social worker have been getting to know our incoming third graders, new to us students, and reuniting with returning students.
Within the classroom, students have begun their curriculum and studies. Teachers communicate with families via notes home and email, while some also use Classroom Dojo and Seesaw. Be sure your email address is up to date in Skyward! We are focusing on a variety of academic focused awards and incentives for students this year, including Accelerated Reader Point Clubs, iReady Math Masters, Rising Stars. We will also feature our Students of the Month and Specials Students of the Month in upcoming communication. Please encourage your student to try their best -- we are getting smarter everyday!
We will host Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 12 from 3:30-6:00. Appointments can be made through Skyward or by calling the main office beginning September 26th.
School Pictures will be on October 12th. This year, students will receive a postcard with a code on it for orders online -- there will be no envelopes sent home. We will send a reminder that week.
