Mrs. Alexandra Miller's Accelerated English II class was introduced to the concepts in Ray Bradbury's novel Fahrenheit 451 today. The event was hosted by SPS district librarian Mrs. Heather Johnson. Students solved physics, math, and chemistry questions, in addition to reading news articles about censorship. They were awarded "burn bucks" when the successfully completed challenges.
Mrs. Miller's students worked to match the news article to its accompanying banned book.
Mrs. Miller's students are working to solve a math problem about the rate at which books burn and the speed of fire trucks.
These students were solving chemistry equations about the Fire Triangle to earn fuel, oxygen, and heat cards.
