CMS sixth grade science classes successfully launched another high altitude balloon on Friday, August 20. Although the recovery was not what we had planned, the flight was a success. Our balloon reached a height of 93,000 feet, endured 80 degrees below zero, and a free fall back to Earth at top speed of 135 mph. Students enjoyed being a part of the launch, tracking, and the recovery process of our launch. A special thank you goes out to Greg Sippel for all of his hard work planning our launches.
