After two years of COVID delays, Sterling FFA finally hosted Farmapalooza again! Farmapalooza is an annual spring event for the Sterling FFA Chapter, members spend many months brainstorming, prepping, and organizing booths for students of all ages to learn about agriculture. This year we opened the event up to all SPS to attend, we had over 500 elementary students, over 100 Challand students, and over 100 high school students in attendance, which made it our largest Farmapalooza event yet!
Sterling FFA also partners up with local producers and the Whiteside County Farm Bureau to make the event happen. This year, local producers brought livestock such as cows, calves, lambs, goats, ducks, chickens and rabbits. Other Farmapalooza booths included: Milking Cows, Seed to Tassel to Table, FFA, Life Cycle of Apple Trees, Farm Safety, Pollinator Plants, Feeding Chickens, and Excavating. FFA is an intra-curricular organization for students interested in leadership and agriculture, we are thankful to be finishing up the sixth year of the newly rechartered program and cannot wait to continue to grow the agriculture program at SHS.
